Meanwhile, if the school year has you feeling industrious, remember that a lot of antiques and vintage pieces are as useful today as they were back in the day.
There’s a huge supply of wood crates and vintage luggage in lots of sizes so you can get organized. There are also some very cool manual typewriters, which are fantastic for creating vintage-looking invitations and flyers. For the seamstress, we have an amazing 19th-century Singer treadle sewing machine and even a collection of stand-up hem markers.
Above all we’ve got furniture of literally all kinds: Bookshelves, vanities, dressers, hutches, sideboards, tables and chairs. Diane is prepared to take all comers for custom chalk painting. She still has a few openings for cabinet makeovers in your home, and notes for the serious painter that Dixie Belle Paint Co. has introduced a new line of brushes that will be available for special order.
By the way, next time you’re in the Warehouse, ask to see pieces that Dean and Diane have brought from their own collections – to make room for new pieces, of course!
Diane is also available for lessons if you want to learn how to do it yourself. We are open Thursday 9 AM-4 PM & Friday-Saturday, 9 AM to 4 PM, or by appointment by calling (941) 423-9000.
